The File Restore feature of Mainely Web's Customer Portal is now integrated into the File Manager Pro. To access File Restore, launch File Manager Pro from the Advanced Tools and look for the Restore button along the top of the file manager.
Mainely Web will be updating the software on our authoritative Domain Name servers (DNS) beginning at 06:00 EDT on May 24, 2018. The plan is to complete the updates by 08:50 EDT. Active maintenance and patch application will be conducted between 06:47 EDT and 06:48 EDT. No customer impact is expected during the update.
Mainely Web will be updating customer's PHP to version 7.1 on May 8, 2018. The changes will be implemented between 01:00 EDT 04:00 EDT. Customers should verify that their web content is compatible with PHP 7.1 and update their code if necessary.
Effective April 30, 2018, Mainely Web will no longer support Adobe ColdFusion. ColdFusion will be removed from the Windows Services application one month prior to that date, on March 29, 2018 which will prevent any new ColdFusion sites from being deployed.
Mainely Web will be applying a critical database update on April, 26, 2018. The update will be performed overnight beginning at 01:00 EDT with a completion window extending through 03:30 EDT. The actual upgrade is expected to be completed between 02:00 EDT and 02:01 EDT. Customers may experience degraded performance of database, fax, mail, and web services during the active maintenance window.
Effective March 5, 2018, Mainely Web will no longer support the Microsoft FrontPage application. Microsoft FrontPage is a discontinued HTML editor and website administration tool. Microsoft discontinued creating new versions of FrontPage for end users, as well as “server extensions” for web hosting providers, in 2003.
FrontPage server extensions are no longer compatible with modern web server configurations.
As of March 5, 2018, the FrontPage Manager application will no longer be available through Mainely Web's Portal. If your website was built using FrontPage or FrontPage Manager, your website will stay online, however FrontPage Server Extensions including hit counters, feedback forms, guestbook pages and search boxes will no longer function. You will also no longer be able to make updates to your website using FrontPage Manager.
Mainely Web recommends that you rebuild your website using our Online Site Builder, a simple do-it-yourself website editor included in your web hosting plan. The site builder helps you build and maintain a beautiful, mobile friendly website to engage and attract customers.
We will be patching our DNS servers to protect them from the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities. We will be applying the patches beginning at 8:00 EDT on January 11, 2018. We do not expect any DNS outages during the patching process.
